Zamfara state Governor, Dauda Lawal has advocated quality and accessible healthcare system to promote effective service delivery.
He observed that lack of standardization remains one the major challenges confronting healthcare sector in the state.
The Governor made the call when Regional Director for Africa, Cambodia and Bangaledash of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Elaine Baruwa paid him a courtesy visit at the government House, Gusau.
He said, as large number of people of the state are poor, primary health centres must be better fixed for effective healthcare delivery.
Governor Lawal said that his administration was formulating policies to address the problems, sought effective collaboration with USAID in resuscitation of healthcare services through training of health personnel, provision of infrastructure and equipment.
Earlier, the Regional Director of the United States Agency for International Development USAID for Africa, Cambodia and Bangaladesh Elaine Baruwa said the agency has been working in Zamfara state and will remain committed in assisting the state in the area of effective healthcare service delivery.
