On 14 June 2022, the troops of Operation Desert Sanity, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force, achieved yet another victory when several ISWAP terrorists were neutralized near Gurzum in Borno State.
According to a statement from the Nigerian Army Headquarters, the troops’ ongoing offensive onslaught resulted in the destruction of terrorists’ markets and camps.
Weapons and ammunition, among other items, were recovered.
In a related development, on 14 June 2022, the Troops of the 26 Task Force Brigade on patrol around Ngoshe in Borno State intercepted one Mrs. Mary Ngoshe and her son, who is suspected of being one of the abducted girls from GGSS Chibok in 2014.
According to the Nigerian Army, the area is still being exploited.
