The Presidential Election Petition Court has adjourned the pre-hearing of the petition by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar against the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, of the All Progressives Congress(APC) to Thursday, May 18, 2023.
Atiku and the PDP are seeking cancellation of the February 25, presidential election, on the allegations that it was married by widespread electoral irregularities, and conducted in substantial none compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act and INEC guidelines.
At the resumed hearing, Counsel for the Petitioner, Chief Chris Uche said all counsel had agreed to harmonise and streamline the vital areas of the pre hearing conference in order to eliminate possible objections to be tendered during hearing.
He said they also agreed for an adjournment for Thursday next week.
Counsel to the respondents did not oppose to the submissions and admitted to have received the application for live broadcast, adding that they will file their reply by Thursday.
The Waziri Adamawa was personally in court, and was accompanied by PDP officials and his political associates.
After taking submissions of parties in the matter, Chairman of Presidential Electional Petitions Court, Justice Haruna Tsammani then adjourned until the 18th of this month for continuation of pre hearing session.
