The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors are to meet on Tuesday to discuss the state of affairs in Nigeria. In a statement announcing the meeting on Monday, Cyril Maduabum, director-general of the PDP governors forum, said they will also discuss the state of the party.
Maduabum said the meeting, which is the first since the election of Bala Mohammed, governor of Bauchi, as chairperson of the forum, will take place at the Akwa Ibom governor’s lodge in Abuja. “The forum is expected to discuss the state of the nation, especially recent developments in the country, politically, socially, and economically,” the statement reads.
“The meeting will also discuss the state of the forum, the party, PDP and the role of the PDP governors in stabilising the PDP and the nation.” Maduabum added that the “new leadership of the forum may likely unfold their unity and progressive agenda during the meeting”. The leading opposition party won 10 states in the last governorship election.
