The Former Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor has been Pulled out of Service with a charge to the Nigerian Armed Forces to keep up the fight against insurgency and ensure that lasting peace is restored to all parts of the country.
General Irabor who spoke of his achievements during his years in the military career gave thanks to God and members of the Armed Forces for their support.
General Salute by the Military band for General Lucky Irabor as he mounted the podium at the Mogadishu Cantonment Abuja to review the Parade mounted for the ceremony in his honour.
Born on October fifth 1965 in Delta State, General Lucky Irabor enrolled into the Nigerian Defence Academy in 1983 under the thirty four regular Course.
He held various operational command before becoming the Chief of Defence Staff among which was the Force Commander Multi-National Joint Task Force.
He is also the Commander Operation Lafiya Dole and the Commander Training and Doctrine Command, Nigerian Army.
As the Theatre Commander Operation Lafiya Dole General Irabor captured the Alargano Forest the claimed spiritual base of Boko Haram.
He executed the operation Crack Down 1 and 2 Rescue Finale and Deep Punch which cleared the Sambisa Forest destroyed Boko Haram camps and rescued over twenty thousand Civilians abducted by the Insurgents.
In his valedictory speech, General Irabor commended the efforts of the Armed Forces for returning peace to most areas across the North and stressed that he is leaving the Armed Forces stronger than he met it.
He urged his successor Major General Christopher Musa to keep up the good work.
General Lucky Irabor was conveyed with Range Rover decorated with four stars in company of his wife Mrs. Vickie Irabor and his daughter.
