The National Security Council has declared the National Task Force an illegal security outfit.
This is the second time President Mohammadu Buhari’s administration will be declaring the outfit illegal and ordering it to end its operations .
This will likely stall the signing of the bill to establish the National Commission against the Proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons establishment Bill ‘2022 passed by the Senate in July, 2022.
NATFORCE was set up to enforce the prohibition of illegal importation/smuggling of arms, ammunition, light weapons, chemical weapons, and pipeline vandalism.
