Simon Ekpa of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has announced plans to declare a sit-at-home action in Lagos State to demand the release of Nnamdi Kanu.
Ekpa made the disclosure on his Twitter handle that IPOB will be coming to Lagos after the two-week-long sit at home in the South-east.
“Biafrans in Lagos should get ready to be part of the demand to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. We are coming to Lagos after the 2 week-long sit at home starting from 31 July, 2023 to 14 August, 2023”.
In addition, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the respected socio-cultural organization in the Eastern Nigeria, has accused Finland-based agitator, Simon Ekpa of luring the region into a second Biafra war. The group then announced a $500, 000 bounty on Ekpa.
Ohanaeze’s Secretary-General, Okechukwu Isiguzoro stated that, “At this point in time, we can’t allow somebody in far-away Finland to dictate the pace. The government of Ebonyi State and the Southeast must ensure that the terrorist activities of Ekpa are solved in his homeland”.
“What we are saying is that Ekpa has declared a second civil war in the Southeast and anybody with useful information will be given $500, 000″.
Ekpa, a self acclaimed disciple of Namdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra has been at the centre of the renewed crisis across the Southeast following series of sit-at-home declaration.
The latest sit-at-home had been violence with recorded shooting of innocent residents in the Southeast.
