A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory sitting in Bwari, has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately recognize Chief Edozie Njoku as the authentic National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Delivering judgment the trial judge Justice Mohammed Madugu, held that all the actions taken by Chief Victor Oye are illegal and of no effect whatsoever.
The judgement was on a suit filed against Chief Victor Ike Oye and the INEC by Otunba Kamaru Ogidan (the National Vice Chairman, South West Geopolitical Zone of APGA) and Alhaji Rabiu Mustapha (the National Welfare Officer of APGA) two National Working Committee members of APGA under the leadership of Chief Edozie Njoku.
The Court ordered that Oye and INEC must obey the judgement of the Supreme Court delivered on October 14 2021 and was subsequently corrected on March 24 2023 with the name of Edozie Njoku as Chairman.
It added that Oye had no locus to parade himself as Chairman of APGA.
Reacting, Counsel for the Plaintiffs Panam Ntui described the the judgment as victory for democracy.
Counsel for the defendants, Victor Argunzi argued that he would appeal the judgment.
The National Chairman APGA Chief Edozie Njoku enjoined all the members of the party to cue in and conduct a proper congress that would put the Party back to political reckoning.
By implication all the ward congresses party primaries and conventions conducted by Oye had been declared null and void.
