At least fifteen people confirmed dead in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State on Sunday in an explosion from a petrol tanker.
The incident occurred as a petrol tanker spilled onto the road and was ignited by a spark emanating from a mobile phone held by one of the individuals scooping from the spilled fuel.
9jayarn gathered that, after the truck crashed, people rushed to the scene to scoop fuel. It was in the process that the truck exploded.
Three children including a pregnant woman died, and over 15 other lifeless bodies recovered.
The State Police Spokesperson, Fumilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the incident and described the victims as fuel scoopers.
