The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, on Wednesday, June 28, escaped an attempted assault during the Eid prayers at the Osogbo Eid praying ground.
9jayarn reports that, thugs suspected to be supporters of an opposition political party staged the row with dangerous weapons to attack the governor.
It was gathered that, the Chief Imam leading the prayers would have the front most line then followed by other dignitaries including Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, the governor and other leading politicians and notable sons in the state, but the thugs attempted to get to the Governor with violence.
