As part of efforts to restructure the management of Hajj affairs in Kano State, Governor Abba Yusuf has sacked 44 local council Hajj officials.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa.
According to the statement, the governor has appointed interim local Hajj officials to oversee the operations and coordinate the pilgrimage for 2023.
The statement directed the newly-appointed officials to report to the recently-appointed Director-General of Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board for an emergency meeting on Sunday.
