Napoli’s striker, Victor Osimhen, who is in good form, is a top priority for Manchester United manager, Erik Ten Hag, as the club plans to bolster their team in the upcoming summer. The Daily Mail reports that the United club intends to make at least two significant signings during the summer transfer window to maintain their progress under the Dutch manager. Their main focus will be on getting a centre forward and additional reinforcements in midfield, and they might need a centre-back as well if their captain Harry Maguire departs. Even though United won the Carabao Cup by defeating Newcastle United 2-0, ending their six-year trophy drought, Ten Hag’s team still has to compete in the Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Europa League this season. The Manchester Evening News indicates that United is already planning to strengthen their squad for the summer, with Osimhen and Tottenham’s Harry Kane being among their targets, while Ten Hag is interested in Benfica and Portugal’s striker Goncalo Ramos.
The former Ajax manager, Ten Hag, thinks that Mohammed Kudus, who also plays for Ajax, has the potential to succeed in the Premier League. In terms of midfield reinforcements, Ten Hag might consider pursuing Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona again, as he was eager to sign him last summer. As Barcelona needs to sell players to improve their finances, a second attempt to sign the Dutch international could be fruitful. Furthermore, the United manager supports the idea of recruiting Jude Bellingham, an English midfielder from Borussia Dortmund, but Liverpool and other interested parties could provide stiff competition. Nonetheless, the club will have to sell players before making any purchases during the summer transfer window to comply with UEFA’s financial regulations. United plans to sell players such as Maguire, defender Alex Telles, who is currently on loan at Sevilla, and the injury-prone forward, Anthony Martial.
